Mounted one on the left side of the kayak so I can snap paddle in while fishing. Seems to hold the paddle very securely .Got two installed one on a sit-in kayak, first screw never got snug forget tight, the metal insert separated from the plastic. With access to the backside I was eventually able to get another to work. Second fastener expanded but not symmetrical and I doubt the longevity. Wanted to install one on a sit-in but with no hull access forget about it, just gonna end up with big holes.I installed one of these on each of my kayaks. For the sit-on, where I didn't have access to the underside, I had to drill holes to insert the anchors, then put the bolts into the anchors. They did not hold. When the clip pulled loose, it looked like tightening the bolt had broken the anchor. (I'm not THAT strong.) On the sit-in, where I could add the anchors between the hull and the bolt head, they held fine, but the clip is too narrow for my 1.5" wide paddle.Product came with no directions. We tried using the screws with the rubber boots that came with the product and as soon as we put our paddle on to the clip the whole clip with the screws came out of our kayak. My husband was thinking out of the box and we ended up using drywall toggle bolts. There were holes in the kayak that needed to be filled, so we had to think of something. I would not buy again. The plastic, I guess, is good? The mount for the paddle seems ok, the fasteners are the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Now I have two holes in my kayak and I need to go to the hardware store and get quality hardware. They should sell this just as the bracket because including those fasteners is an insult. Will not be buying from this company again. These will fit a broom handle NOT kayak paddles.Took under ten minutes to install one of these each on two different kayaks. Simple install. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that it seems overly tight on the kayak paddle itself. I am not sure if there is a universal diameter in kayak paddles, but getting it back out of the holder took a fair amount of effort. In the grand scheme of things though, I rather have it too tight instead of too loose. That logic applies in many areas in life. These are easy to mount and work well to hold your paddle when stored or in between paddling sessions. No complaints. When I installed the first time, I had just used some tri fold rivets that I had around and it works great. When I installed the second I decided to use the well nuts that came with the kit. DON'T use them! They are terrible, the nut just rides up the rubber tubing without crimping in up to form a seal and the whole thing comes right out. If you get these, invest in a rivet gun and some trifold rivets. This might be user error, but after installing this I sliced my hand pretty good when I contacted the edge of the clip while paddling.Holds the paddle perfectly secure, but I can get it out again easily.Maybe file the edges down or install it where you wont brush it accidentally.was easy to install and very helpful to store paddle so as to view surrounding shoresThey work fine, but they shd have came with nuts n washers, the blk grommets pull out of the holes u need to drill to put them in. Grabbed a cpl from home depot for $5, problem solved. These Kayak paddle clips work perfectly on my kayak. They are made from a hard plastic that seem durable and weatherproof.Installation was simple in my kayak, and once in place, they don't wobble or move around. They fit my paddles perfectly and hold them in place while my kayak is either waiting on land for me or I'm fishing and need both of my hands. Even when my kayak wobbles, the paddles stay in place and I don't have to worry about losing them.Great price point for the quality.
